The core of mans' spirit comes from new experiences

I think in a lot of ways we as man have lost our desire to experience new, dangerous, exciting, challenging, risky, and maybe rewarding things. This last month i went on a backpacking trip through the Oregon coast. With little food and only water i could find from the land i set out on a three day trip from Seaside on the northern coast to Manzanita, a small fisher men's town 32 miles south of Seaside. When i started the hike I thought that nothing could stop me and that i had complete control over nature and the things in it were not as strong as i was. I was relying on being strong in mind and soul only to realize how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong... but to feel strong. Strength only goes so far but belief in yourself when you have run out of water, are low on food, and are lost in the middle of the night can save you from worry and trouble. To feel strong is to allow the heart and mind to co-enter epitaph or a euphoria if you will of self awareness and compatibility with your surroundings. I think ever man needs to step into the wild and allow themselves to be lost, feel strong, and to find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions, facing blind, deaf stone alone, with nothing to help you but your own hands and your own head
